Nate is not in jail, he is in prison. Jail is where you go when you are awaiting trial. He will be released in the next 24 months. He did his time, paid for his crime, so leave him alone. He was convicted of manslaughter, not murder, so you can all stop wasting your energy on him -- he will be released as a matter of law and nothing will change that; there is no parole hearing for manslaughter cases. You know, it takes (2) to fight. Boys are stupid, they were both stupid, no one disputes that. It's UNFORTUNATE and TRAGIC but all of your hatred and animosity only poisons your own lives. Move on!

Well you provided us with the information we wanted, however, it seems you have a lot of hatred and no respect or remorse for the family. We would appreciate if you would not post on this memorial website again.

Too bad you didn't leave an email address, coward just like Nate but that is ok because Nate he wasn't convicted of murder or manslaughter, actually what happened was that he took a plea with a much reduced sentence when the ADA on the case had to leave town because her father died, leaving the person handling the cases to be in a position to take the plea when it was offered. If you are a friend of Nates (which I doubt)you would have been at the sentencing and heard the judge say to your precious Nate what we all know in our hearts to be true and that he is a murderer and a coward. We all know that it takes 2 to start a fight but why would you take a weapon into the fight making it unfair for the other person to defend themselves, if you didn't have murder on your mind. Since your Nate supposedly is a martial arts expert, he wouldn't have needed a knife, his body would have done the trick and he would have come out a winner, which I am now beginning to think he wouldn't have and that is what scared him and that is not winning so heck take a knife and kill the person. He can and he could and he did. Now he came out of the fight, the only one alive but I would never call him a winner. He has his life but what a huge loser he really is. Again you need to know the facts before you write or say anything about the events of that night. There is no hatred from me of Nate, only pity and don't worry I have moved on, the one that hasn't moved on and will never be able to move on is Nate. When you kill someone, anyway you want to call it, he did take anothers life, you are never free from that thought and you are never free to move on in a way that you would like, happily and without regret. When you take a life the way Nate did, he has the victims's blood on his hands and will forever. Nate ruined his life for nothing, the person he killed never would have given him a thought after a fair fight would have been over. Nate ruined the lives of both of them. Stupid, Yes. Tragic, moreso, but Nate will never be able to "move on" the way he thinks he can. He took a life and that is something that he will n ever in his heart of hearts make alright, even for a while. You can't take a life and be ok no matter if its a "fight" or not. Dave was stupid to underestimate that Nate would be a coward and really want him dead, why else again the knife. Also Nate had other weapons in his car. From what I read that you printed, you obviously don't know him well at all. Know the facts before you write anything in his behalf. Actually you shouldn't even be on this site, why are you that interested in Dave? What honestly bothers me and that is knowing that even Dave would not have hated Nate for what happened. He would have realized it was a fight and you take your chances but he would also have wondered why a knife, why wouldn't the fight be equal. You should move on and away from him. P.S. you should get a copy of the court transcript and read it, the judge also was a martial arts expert and he called Nate a murderer, like all of us who knew Dave did. He also was unhappy that a plea bargain was struck.

It sucks that Mr. Ward died and that Mr. Moore killed him. I wish I could bring him back for you, it seems he was a great guy.

Wanting Mr. Moore to suffer for longer than he already has may make you feel better, but guess what, that's not the way things work. It's the system we have and if you don't like it you can 1) Change the system 2) Move away or 3) Grow up and quit complaining.

You wanna make the world a better place? Go visit some 18 year old rotting in a prison cell. Kids do STUPID STUFF because their brains are not done yet, they are not developed enough to say "that is a bad person and should be thrown away".

Most of my friends in prison were NICE WHITE KIDS who made ONE bad decision. Most of them killed themselves over the years. Six of my cellmates killed themselves; I discovered 2 of them personally.

Prison is a miserable, desperate place full of lost souls. Leave them alone, they are miserable enough.
