Sentencing Hearing Outcome
Friday, May 17, 2002 |
After a 3 year wait, the murderer
plead guilty and was sentenced to only 11 years for Voluntary
Manslaughter and 1 year for the use of an illegal weapon. Total
sentencing is 12 years minus 80% of 3 years served. However,
we all know David's murderer should have received more time, even
the judge said this case should have been tried as SECOND DEGREE
MURDER. At this time we are not sure what prison he resides
in.
The support was amazing!
Approximately 30 friends and family members attended in memory of
David and nearly 20 spoke in David's memory. There were also
numerous letters written to the judge. Thank you ALL very much for
your support.
This trial went through 4
attorneys for the defendant and 39 continuances. It is finally over
- however, there is not enough time in the world that could be
sentenced to replace David's life. May David rest in peace! And
may that freakish murderer rot in prison only to become someone's
bitch for the next 9 years. A higher power will take care of the
rest for us. |

will NOT be dismissed. This gives the DA good indication
David's case has a strong ruling for "Murder". |
